Our Assessment

Reviewed 30 September 2026. Retained as pending for the promised increase to Rs 1,500 per month. Uttar Pradesh's 2026-27 Budget speech states that disability pension is being paid at Rs 1,000 per month to over 11 lakh people. Continuing payments and an increased scheme budget do not establish the promised higher monthly rate. No implemented Rs 1,500 monthly rate was verified in this review. Previous review (2026-06-10): Pending. Official public scheme information lists Uttar Pradesh disability pension at ₹1,000 per month, not ₹1,500 per month. Until an official order confirms the increase to ₹1,500, this remains pending.
