Add 6,000 new seats in MBBS and other medical courses

The manifesto promised 6,000 new seats across MBBS and other medical courses. Five new medical colleges commencing in 2024-25 added 100 MBBS seats each, and the Tonk and Jaisalmer colleges commencing in 2025-26 added 50 seats each, providing a verified minimum increase of 600 MBBS seats during the term. The Economic Review reports 8,980 undergraduate, 3,930 postgraduate and 446 super-speciality seats sanctioned statewide, but these totals are not evidence that all were newly added after the election. The verified increase is meaningful but remains well below 6,000 and does not yet demonstrate the promised increase across other medical courses. Budget: RajMES received Rs 3,630.50 crore in 2025-26 up to December and spent Rs 1,116.95 crore, providing mapped medical-college funding and utilisation evidence.
