Appoint 15,000 doctors and 20,000 paramedical staff

The manifesto promised new appointments of 15,000 doctors and 20,000 paramedical staff. The July 2024 Budget proposed creation of 1,500 doctor and 4,000 nursing posts, and the February 2025 Budget announced creation of a further 750 doctor and 1,500 paramedical posts. These are sanctioned or proposed posts rather than verified completed appointments, and even the combined announced numbers remain far below the manifesto targets. No approved consolidated source was found showing how many of these posts had actually been filled after the election. Budget: Post creation provides direct establishment-budget evidence, but no consolidated appointment expenditure or utilisation against the 15,000 and 20,000 targets was verified.
