Our Assessment
Gujarat's rural-road programme includes bridge and causeway works. The 2025–26 state review reports 51 completed and 112 ongoing PMGSY bridge works statewide, while the 2026–27 budget provides for replacing causeways with high bridges. These are relevant programme records, but the published figures do not identify small bridges or causeways upgraded in tribal areas after the election, nor demonstrate all-weather access at the intended crossings. Statewide bridge totals, large urban bridges and allocations alone are insufficient for this specific component.
