Our Assessment

A concrete post-election milestone is the Bhuj–Naliya gauge-conversion project dedicated in October 2024, which included three road overbridges and 30 road underbridges. The Railway Ministry also reported a cumulative 1,177 Gujarat flyovers and underpasses in February 2026, without separating pre- and post-election work. In August 2026 it approved another overbridge at level crossing 305 on the Geratpur–Ahmedabad section. These works reduce crossings, but the statewide crossing-free outcome and number remaining are not documented.

The reasoning behind the verdict

Why this assessment?

Reviewed

01 · Delivery status

Why partially done?

The Bhuj–Naliya project dedicated in October 2024 included three ROBs and 30 RUBs, providing direct post-election infrastructure delivery. Railways later sanctioned another Gujarat level-crossing replacement. The wider 1,177-structure figure is cumulative, and no zero-crossing state or comparable residual count is established, so the promise is Partially Done.

02 · Strength of evidence

Why medium confidence?

Railway Ministry releases directly document bridge activity and one still-open crossing. A statewide baseline, residual crossing count and post-2022 completion series were not found, so confidence is Medium.

What would help us reassess?

The documents that could clarify delivery of this commitment.

  • Number and location of active public level crossings in Gujarat at the 2022 baseline and now
  • Date-stamped list of ROBs and RUBs completed since the 2022 election
  • A certified statewide zero-crossing completion record

Status describes delivery. Confidence describes the evidence.
