Establish mega textile parks in Navsari and Surendranagar
Bharatiya Janata Party · Gujarat Legislative Assembly Election 2022
Last updated 12 Oct 2026
What does this status mean?
Meaningful delivery has occurred, but the stated commitment is incomplete.
Status describes delivery. Confidence describes how strong the available evidence is.
Original manifesto wording
“We will establish Mega Textile Parks in Navsari and Surendranagar to create lakhs of jobs in the textile sector.”
Our Assessment
The Union government selected Navsari for Gujarat's PM MITRA textile park. An August 2026 parliamentary answer reports 1,000 acres available, six internal infrastructure works completed and ₹196.22 crore state spending on external infrastructure. The park itself is not reported as operational. The same official list includes no Surendranagar park. One of the two locations has verifiable construction-related progress, while neither park can be counted as completed.
The reasoning behind the verdict
Why this assessment?
Reviewed
01 · Delivery status
Why partially done?
Navsari has land and infrastructure works, but the promised second location and operation of either park remain unverified. This is meaningful yet incomplete delivery against two named parks.
The target is 2 parks. A verified completed count is unavailable, so the progress bar is left blank.
02 · Strength of evidence
Why high confidence?
A current parliamentary reply identifies the sole Gujarat PM MITRA site and physical work at Navsari. It does not provide a wider inventory of independently financed mega textile parks.
What would help us reassess?
The documents that could clarify delivery of this commitment.
- Operational opening and tenant/job records for the Navsari park
- State notification, land, construction and opening records for a Surendranagar mega textile park
Status describes delivery. Confidence describes the evidence.
