Launch integrated traffic management across urban Gujarat for emergency vehicles

What does this status mean?
Meaningful delivery has occurred, but the stated commitment is incomplete.
Status describes delivery. Confidence describes how strong the available evidence is.
Original manifesto wording
“Launch an Integrated Traffic Management System in all urban areas to facilitate quick passage to emergency vehicles such as ambulances and fire tenders.”
Our Assessment
Relevant integrated transport and traffic systems are operating in Gujarat's larger cities, and further deployment has started. Surat received the Union urban-mobility award for its intelligent transport system in October 2024. In April 2026, Ahmedabad deployed an adaptive traffic-control pilot at ten junctions; larger citywide procurement followed. These are meaningful implementation steps, but an intelligent public-transport system or traffic-camera network alone does not establish emergency-vehicle priority. The records reviewed do not verify operational ambulance and fire-tender passage arrangements across all urban areas or measured improvements in emergency travel time. The promise is Partially Done.
The reasoning behind the verdict
Why this assessment?
Reviewed
01 · Delivery status
Why partially done?
Traffic-system implementation is visible in major cities, but statewide urban coverage and the explicit emergency-vehicle priority outcome remain unverified.
02 · Strength of evidence
Why medium confidence?
Municipal records and reporting verify operational systems and a recent pilot. Available records are less complete on signal pre-emption, emergency integration, coverage and response-time effects.
What would help us reassess?
The documents that could clarify delivery of this commitment.
- Urban-area list and commissioning records for integrated traffic systems
- Operational ambulance and fire-tender priority or signal-pre-emption integration records
- Before-and-after emergency travel times and system uptime or audit reports
Status describes delivery. Confidence describes the evidence.
