Integrate emergency services under helpline 112
Bharatiya Janata Party · Gujarat Legislative Assembly Election 2022
Last updated 15 Oct 2026
What does this status mean?
The stated commitment has been substantively delivered, supported by evidence.
Status describes delivery. Confidence describes how strong the available evidence is.
Original manifesto wording
“We will integrate all emergency helplines and create an emergency helpline number 112.”
Our Assessment
Gujarat's integrated emergency-response service is operational under Dial 112 / Janrakshak. The Union Home Ministry documented its inauguration on 31 August 2025. The February 2026 Assembly address subsequently confirmed integration of police, ambulance, fire, Abhayam, child helpline and disaster-management services, with an operating response fleet. This is evidence of actual delivery beyond an announcement and substantively meets the central promise of one integrated emergency access number. Continuing operation of older numbers does not contradict integration: callers can still reach the combined system through 112. Response quality and reliability remain matters for continuing monitoring.
