What does this status mean?
The term is active and there is no evidence of action or reversal.
Status describes delivery. Confidence describes how strong the available evidence is.
Original manifesto wording
“We will develop Gujarat Link Corridors by completing the missing links and augmenting the existing highways: • East-West Corridor: Connecting Dahod with Porbandar (611 km) • North-South Corridor: Connecting Palanpur to Valsad (558 km).”
Our Assessment
The two exact promised routes total 1,169 km. Gujarat's later official road update lists statewide widening, Garvi Gujarat High Speed Corridor works and proposed Namo Shakti and Somnath-Dwarka expressways, but provides no route-level completed-kilometre record identifying the Dahod–Porbandar and Palanpur–Valsad Gujarat Link Corridors. Other road schemes cannot be credited solely because they run east-west or north-south. With no verified implementation on these named routes, this remains Pending with Low confidence.
The reasoning behind the verdict
Why this assessment?
Reviewed
01 · Delivery status
Why pending?
The manifesto specifies two measurable corridors, Dahod–Porbandar (611 km) and Palanpur–Valsad (558 km). The official road progress report documents other state highway and expressway programmes but does not identify completed missing links or upgraded stretches for either specified route. Without a route-by-route mapping, meaningful delivery of these corridors cannot be verified, so the promise remains Pending.
The 1,169-km target is the sum of the two manifesto routes, not an official measure of completed work. No progress bar is shown because comparable completed kilometres are unavailable.
02 · Strength of evidence
Why low confidence?
The manifesto establishes the routes, but public reporting reviewed does not directly map later works to their alignments. Absence from a broad road report does not prove no work occurred, so the negative assessment carries Low confidence.
What would help us reassess?
The documents that could clarify delivery of this commitment.
- Official alignment and segment list for the Dahod–Porbandar and Palanpur–Valsad corridors
- Tender and award records for the missing links and highway upgrades on those exact routes
- Completed and operational kilometres for each corridor, with lane standards and opening dates
