CCTVs in public transport for women safety

Bharatiya Janata Party · Goa Legislative Assembly Election 2022

Last updated 20 Jun 2026

In order to ensure complete safety for women around the clock, we will create a comprehensive women's safety platform called Suraksha that will be connected with local police stations and women's helpline num-bers. We will ensure GPS tagging of all public transport and also equip them with CCTVs and SOS buttons.

Partial. The promise is to equip all public transport with CCTVs as part of women's safety measures. KTCL's Pilot Mazi Bus Scheme requires CCTV and panic-button systems on buses under that scheme, and Business Standard/PTI reported that 20 electric buses inducted into Goa's state transport body in May 2023 had CCTV cameras, panic buttons and automated digital fare collection. This confirms CCTV installation in some public-transport deployments, but no approved source found confirms CCTV coverage across all public transport in Goa. Status partial.
