Our Assessment
The Purvodaya vision for the development of eastern India (covering states such as Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh) was articulated in the Union Budget 2024-25, with industrial-corridor, infrastructure and connectivity components and projects directed at the eastern region. A distinct, comprehensive Purvodaya Master Plan is at the formulation/early-implementation stage rather than fully prepared and rolled out. Partial, low confidence.
