What does this status mean?
Meaningful delivery has occurred, but the stated commitment is incomplete.
Status describes delivery. Confidence describes how strong the available evidence is.
Original manifesto wording
“We will work with state governments and cities to encourage them to create a modern set of legislation, by-laws and urban planning processes using technology.”
Our Assessment
Modernisation of urban legislation and planning is being encouraged through model building bye-laws, the Urban and Regional Development Plans Formulation and Implementation (URDPFI) guidelines, town-and-country planning reforms, GIS-based master planning (under schemes such as the sub-scheme for formulation of GIS-based master plans for AMRUT cities) and ease-of-doing-business reforms in construction permits. Adoption varies across states, so this is an ongoing, partly realised effort. Partial.
