What does this status mean?
Meaningful delivery has occurred, but the stated commitment is incomplete.
Status describes delivery. Confidence describes how strong the available evidence is.
Original manifesto wording
“We will successfully operationalize PM Mitra parks, invest in research and development of new products, simplify the legal and compliance regimes, invest in common amenities, invest in infrastructure for textile industry, and launch special skilling programmes focussed on employment. We will also make investments in our traditional textile industries to take our indigenous industries and designs to the global stage.”
Our Assessment
The textile-manufacturing push is being delivered through 7 PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) parks (total outlay about Rs 4,445 crore), with sites finalised in Tamil Nadu (Virudhunagar), Telangana (Warangal), Gujarat (Navsari), Karnataka (Kalaburagi), Madhya Pradesh (Dhar), Uttar Pradesh (Lucknow) and Maharashtra (Amravati), built on the 5F vision (Farm to Fibre to Factory to Fashion to Foreign) in PPP/SPV mode, complemented by the PLI scheme for MMF/technical textiles, the National Technical Textiles Mission, SAMARTH skilling and ATUFS. Park operationalisation and unit establishment are progressing but not complete, so the pledge is in active delivery. Partial (strong action).
