“Establish a special Rs 500 crore fund to aid business initiatives of women self-help groups across the state.”
The promise was a special Rs 500 crore fund for business initiatives of women SHGs. There is substantial verified SHG activity: the Chief Minister Office says interest-free loans up to Rs 5 lakh are being provided under Lakhpati Didi and one lakh Lakhpati Didis had crossed the benchmark; the Information and Public Relations Department later said more than 254,000 women had become Lakhpati Didis and SHGs were being supported with interest-free loans up to Rs 5 lakh. However, no approved-source evidence was found of the promised special Rs 500 crore fund or corpus. The verdict is partial because the SHG-business objective has active delivery, but the quantified fund is unverified. Budget: no specific Rs 500 crore SHG fund allocation found.
