“Create a fund of Rs 1,000 crores to invest in building fifty state-of-the-art agricultural warehousing and cold storage facilities with a focus on local floriculture, horticulture and organic produce.”
The Agriculture Department lists the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund as a post-harvest infrastructure and community farming asset financing facility, with 3 percent interest subvention on loans up to Rs 2 crore for up to seven years. This supports the broad infrastructure intent. However, no approved-source evidence was found of the promised state Rs 1,000 crore fund or of fifty state-of-the-art warehousing and cold-storage facilities being sanctioned or completed under this pledge. Budget: AIF financing support exists, but no specific Rs 1,000 crore state fund for fifty facilities was verified.
