Uttar Pradesh launched the Nishadraj Boat Subsidy Yojana (alongside the Mukhyamantri Matsya Sampada Yojana) in 2024-25, giving fishermen a 40% subsidy on boats and nets (about Rs 28,000 on a Rs 67,000 boat-plus-net cost), targeting 1,500 lease-holders a year. The launched parameters differ from the manifesto (boat cost well below Rs 1 lakh; fish-seed banks rather than a 25% fish-seed-unit subsidy), and the promised 6 model fish markets are not confirmed.
