Partially acted on, well below the promised scale. In June 2022 the government proposed a Bhamashah Price Stability Fund to guarantee a minimum price for potato, onion and tomato — but with an allocation of about Rs 100 crore, roughly a tenth of the Rs 1,000 crore promised in the manifesto. Operational price-deficiency payments to farmers under the fund are not well documented, and the scale falls well short of the commitment.
