Our Assessment

The manifesto promised to strengthen government soybean procurement at MSP over five years. PIB reported that during Kharif 2025-26, Madhya Pradesh soybean procurement of 22,21,632 metric tonnes would be implemented under the Price Deficiency Payment Scheme, with financial implication of Rs 1,775.53 crore. Economic Times reported actual Bhavantar disbursals, including Rs 810 crore to 3.77 lakh soybean farmers, following an earlier payment. This is a strong match to MSP-protection intent, though the mechanism is price-deficiency payment rather than ordinary physical procurement. Because soybean procurement support is seasonal and continuing, the verdict is ongoing. Budget: Rs 1,775.53 crore financial implication was approved for the soybean PDPS operation; full final utilisation was not found.
