State Millet Mission for Shri Anna production

The manifesto promised to increase production of Kodo, Kutki, Jowar, Bajra and Ragi under a state Millet or Shri Anna Mission. Approved newspaper reporting shows real Shri Anna action: the Madhya Pradesh cabinet approved first-time Kodo-Kutki procurement, with procurement quantities, prices, an incentive and an interest-free loan to the Shri Anna Federation. Times of India also reported the Chief Minister’s commitment to promote millet grains including ragi, kodo-kutki, jowar and bajra. However, the approved sources found in this pass do not verify a complete state mission increasing production across all five promised crops. The verdict is partial because Kodo-Kutki procurement and production-promotion movement are evidenced, but the full crop-wise mission outcome remains unverified. Budget: Rs 80 crore interest-free loan support to Shri Anna Federation was reported; full mission allocation and utilisation were not found.
