Skill training to make 15 lakh rural women lakhpati

The manifesto promised skill-training support for 15 lakh rural women under the Lakhpati initiative. PIB states that Lakhpati Didi is implemented through DAY-NRLM and includes skill development, financial literacy, livelihood support and convergence, with a focus on SHG women reaching at least Rs 1 lakh annual income. The same official reply reports 12,84,957 self-reported Lakhpati Didis in Madhya Pradesh, which is about 86 percent of the manifesto target. This is not a perfect match because the official figure is an outcome count rather than a training-enrolment count, but it is close to the promised scale and the delivery mechanism is scheme-aligned. The verdict is on_track rather than fulfilled until the target is crossed or a specific 15 lakh training completion figure is available. Budget: PIB says there is no separate Lakhpati Didi budget; activities are funded under DAY-NRLM, and Madhya Pradesh had a FY 2025-26 NRLM central allocation of Rs 80,345.40 lakh up to 30 June 2025.
