Mission Soybean for higher production

The manifesto promised Mission Soybean to increase soybean production over five years. Approved sources show meaningful soybean-focused support: the Centre approved Madhya Pradesh soybean coverage under the Price Deficiency Payment Scheme, and the state implemented Bhavantar payments for soybean farmers. Reporting also shows high soybean farmer registration and active state review of the scheme. However, these price-support and procurement-protection measures do not prove a distinct Mission Soybean production programme with a five-year production target. The verdict is partial because the government is acting on soybean farmer support, but the promised production mission is not fully evidenced. Budget: Rs 1,775.53 crore financial implication was approved for soybean PDPS, but no dedicated Mission Soybean budget and utilisation was found.
