Rs 45 lakh crore and top-three state economy

The manifesto promised to bring Madhya Pradesh among India’s top three state economies and make the state economy Rs 45 lakh crore within seven years. PRS projects Madhya Pradesh GSDP at current prices at Rs 18,48,274 crore for 2026-27, with 11 percent growth over revised estimates for 2025-26. This is meaningful economic growth, but it remains far below the Rs 45 lakh crore target and does not yet show a trajectory that would clearly place MP among the top three state economies. The promise is therefore pending, not on_track, until stronger evidence of a credible path to the seven-year target is available. Budget: this is a macroeconomic outcome promise, not a budget-line promise; no separate allocation or utilisation line exists for achieving Rs 45 lakh crore GSDP.
