Our Assessment

high

The IndiaAI Mission (approved March 2024 with an outlay of about Rs 10,371 crore) is being implemented across pillars including shared compute (tens of thousands of GPUs made available at subsidised rates, reportedly around Rs 65 per hour), foundation-model/AI application development, datasets (AIKosh), AI skilling, startups and safe-and-trusted AI. India also hosted/AI-summit engagement and global partnerships. The ecosystem is being actively built, with global AI leadership a continuing goal. Partial (strong action).
