Strengthen digital sovereignty and act against threatening digital entities

India continues to act on digital sovereignty through measures such as blocking of apps and online content deemed threats to security, the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines) framework, data-localisation and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (with rules under finalisation), and the proposed broader Digital India Act to modernise internet regulation. Enforcement actions against entities considered harmful are ongoing. As an open-ended commitment, it is being pursued continuously and several components remain in progress. Partial.
