“We will work to leverage the Northeast as a strategic gateway for Bharat’s Act East Policy ensuring connectivity, education, health, economic development and security.”
The Northeast is being developed as an Act East gateway through major connectivity projects (highways, new railway lines to state capitals, expanded airports, the India-Myanmar-Thailand Trilateral Highway and Kaladan multimodal project), the UNNATI 2024 industrial development scheme for the North East, and PM-DevINE and North East Special Infrastructure Development Scheme investments in connectivity, health and education. Progress is significant but uneven, and some cross-border connectivity is affected by instability in Myanmar. Partial.
We will formulate a dedicated Purvodaya Master Plan for targeted and integrated infrastructure development of eastern India.
We will make India the largest producer for lab-grown diamond production, embracing cutting-edge technology and sustainable methods to drive economic growth and establish a leading position in the international market.
We will successfully operationalize PM Mitra parks, invest in research and development of new products, simplify the legal and compliance regimes, invest in common amenities, invest in infrastructure for textile industry, and launch special skilling programmes focussed on employment. We will also make investments in our traditional textile industries to take our indigenous industries and designs to the global stage.
