Make Bharat a global leader in textile manufacturing via PM MITRA parks

Bharatiya Janata Party · Lok Sabha General Election 2024

Last updated 4 Jun 2026

We will successfully operationalize PM Mitra parks, invest in research and development of new products, simplify the legal and compliance regimes, invest in common amenities, invest in infrastructure for textile industry, and launch special skilling programmes focussed on employment. We will also make investments in our traditional textile industries to take our indigenous industries and designs to the global stage.

Our Assessment

high

The textile-manufacturing push is being delivered through 7 PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) parks (total outlay about Rs 4,445 crore), with sites finalised in Tamil Nadu (Virudhunagar), Telangana (Warangal), Gujarat (Navsari), Karnataka (Kalaburagi), Madhya Pradesh (Dhar), Uttar Pradesh (Lucknow) and Maharashtra (Amravati), built on the 5F vision (Farm to Fibre to Factory to Fashion to Foreign) in PPP/SPV mode, complemented by the PLI scheme for MMF/technical textiles, the National Technical Textiles Mission, SAMARTH skilling and ATUFS. Park operationalisation and unit establishment are progressing but not complete, so the pledge is in active delivery. Partial (strong action).
