Trauma and emergency care are supported through existing programmes - trauma-care facilities along national highways, the Capacity Building scheme, critical-care blocks under PM-ABHIM, and emergency response services (e.g. 108 ambulances) - and a cashless treatment scheme for road-accident victims has been introduced.
