Health human-resource capacity is being expanded through new nursing colleges (including a programme to set up additional nursing colleges co-located with medical colleges), the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions (regulating and standardising allied-health/paramedical education), and growth in pharmacy and technician training institutions. Capacity is increasing, but shortages of trained health workers persist, so the effort is ongoing. Partial.
We will strengthen our traditional means including Yoga and Meditation, and also enhance the scope and coverage of mental health initiatives like Manas and Manodarpan.
We will encourage and extend support to Bharatiya vaccine manufacturers and biopharma companies in various capacities to boost production and distribution and aim to reduce our timeline for vaccine manufacturing.
We will intensify existing efforts to ensure elimination of TB, Leprosy, Lymphatic Filariasis, Measles and Rubella, Trachoma, and Kala Azar by facilitating timely testing and access to medicines.
