Through the increased number of AIIMS and various medical colleges, we will increase the number of UG and PG seats in medical education.

Medical education seats have grown sharply: MBBS seats rose to about 1,29,026 in academic year 2025-26, an addition of roughly 11,276 in a single year (up from 1,17,750 in 2024), with new medical colleges approved across 19 states/UTs and the Union Cabinet sanctioning 10,000 additional UG and PG seats under Phase-3 of the Centrally Sponsored Scheme. PG seats have similarly expanded. The pledge is being actively delivered, with the government targeting a further large increase in seats. Partial (strong action).
