“We will launch the National Mission on Natural Farming to promote nature-friendly, climate-resilient, remunerative agriculture for food and nutrition secure Bharat.”
The pledge to launch the National Mission on Natural Farming has been delivered. The Union Cabinet approved the NMNF as a standalone Centrally Sponsored Scheme on 25 November 2024, with a total outlay of Rs 2,481 crore (Centre Rs 1,584 crore, states Rs 897 crore) through 2025-26, targeting 1 crore farmers, 7.5 lakh hectares and 15,000 clusters, with an incentive of Rs 4,000 per acre per year. Implementation has moved quickly: guidelines issued December 2024, 70,000+ Krishi Sakhis trained, and over 10 lakh farmers enrolled by July 2025. The launch commitment is fulfilled; outcome-level scale-up continues.
