“We will expand the network of dairy cooperatives in villages in the next five years with facilities of fodder banks, milk testing laboratories, bulk milk coolers, and milk processing units.”
Expansion is being pursued through White Revolution 2.0, launched by the Ministry of Cooperation in September 2024 (SOP issued 19 September 2024), which targets raising milk procurement by dairy cooperatives by about 50% over five years and establishing roughly 75,000 new dairy cooperative societies, bringing uncovered villages into the organised sector. Support infrastructure (bulk milk coolers, milk testing labs, processing units) is backed by the National Programme for Dairy Development (NPDD) 2.0 and AHIDF. New multipurpose dairy cooperatives are being registered. The pledge is being acted on but the five-year expansion is in progress. Partial.
