What does this status mean?
The stated commitment has been substantively delivered, supported by evidence.
Status describes delivery. Confidence describes how strong the available evidence is.
Original manifesto wording
“We will double the annual cap under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (Ayushman Bharat) from ₹5 lakh to ₹10 lakh per family and ensure free-of-cost medical treatment.”
Our Assessment
Gujarat increased PMJAY-MA annual cover from ₹5 lakh to ₹10 lakh per eligible family from 11 July 2023. The state order and development programme document confirm cashless treatment for approved packages at empanelled hospitals. The policy increase is fulfilled. This ceiling does not mean universal free care for every resident, unrestricted outpatient treatment or ₹10 lakh paid to each household.
