Last updated 18 Oct 2026
What does this status mean?
Meaningful delivery has occurred, but the stated commitment is incomplete.
Status describes delivery. Confidence describes how strong the available evidence is.
Original manifesto wording
“We will dedicate ₹185 crore to establish special units in government hospitals at the district level for the treatment and rehabilitation of patients suffering from palliative illnesses like dementia, neurological diseases, congenital anomalies, etc.”
Our Assessment
GCRI provides palliative inpatient, outpatient, home and hospice care and conducts training through Gujarat's State Palliative Care Cell. These services are relevant, but GCRI's department dates to 2010. They do not verify the promised ₹185-crore allocation or new district-government-hospital units addressing the wider dementia, neurological and congenital conditions. Programme-specific funding, commissioning and district coverage remain unverified.
