Provide comprehensive post-delivery screening for every mother and child
Bharatiya Janata Party · Gujarat Legislative Assembly Election 2022
Last updated 15 Oct 2026
What does this status mean?
Meaningful delivery has occurred, but the stated commitment is incomplete.
Status describes delivery. Confidence describes how strong the available evidence is.
Original manifesto wording
“We will launch the Maa-Shishu Arogya Yojana to ensure every mother and child undergoes comprehensive health screening post-delivery, to rule out any congenital or long-term complications.”
Our Assessment
Maternal and newborn care is being delivered through JSSK/SUMAN, and Gujarat reports child screening and early-intervention services through SH-RBSK. These are relevant services even without the Maa-Shishu label. They do not establish that every mother and child receives comprehensive post-delivery screening for congenital and long-term complications. Antenatal examinations, school screening and free delivery care alone cannot satisfy that universal paired screening requirement.
The reasoning behind the verdict
Why this assessment?
Reviewed
01 · Delivery status
Why partially done?
Related maternal and child services operate, but comprehensive post-delivery coverage for both members of every mother-child pair is unverified.
02 · Strength of evidence
Why medium confidence?
Relevant delivery evidence exists, but complete scope, coverage or independent verification remains limited.
What would help us reassess?
The documents that could clarify delivery of this commitment.
- Post-delivery screening protocol for mothers and newborns
