Bharatiya Janata Party · Gujarat Legislative Assembly Election 2022
Last updated 18 Oct 2026
What does this status mean?
Meaningful delivery has occurred, but the stated commitment is incomplete.
Status describes delivery. Confidence describes how strong the available evidence is.
Original manifesto wording
“We aim to make Gujarat the AYUSH Hub of India and establish 4 state-of-the-art Institute of Traditional Medicine with the Global Centre for Traditional Medicine, Jamnagar being the central node. Under this, we will: • Promote the manufacturing of Ayurveda medicines • Promote Ayurveda Vigyan startups • Establish Ayurveda Research and Development centres across all major cities”
Our Assessment
The WHO Global Traditional Medicine Centre in Jamnagar has documented institutional and research activity, strengthening Gujarat's traditional-medicine role. Its foundation and ITRA's amalgamation predate the manifesto. They cannot be counted as four new promised institutes. Support for manufacturing and startup access is relevant, but four completed state-of-the-art institutes and a research-centre network across major cities remain unverified.
The reasoning behind the verdict
Why this assessment?
Reviewed
01 · Delivery status
Why partially done?
Jamnagar's institutional development is relevant progress; the four-institute and wider network targets are unverified.
02 · Strength of evidence
Why medium confidence?
Identifiable delivery or administrative action is documented, but full scope or coverage remains unverified.
What would help us reassess?
The documents that could clarify delivery of this commitment.
- Four named institutes, opening dates, staffing and services
- City-wise research centres and Gujarat-specific startup and manufacturing outcomes
