Fulfilled. The commitment is to undertake special efforts to preserve, propagate and revitalise indigenous rice and other grain varieties. It does not require restoration of every historic variety or a specified production target. The Goa State Amritkal Agriculture Policy 2025 expressly provides for preserving and multiplying heirloom salt-resistant and flood-tolerant rice, surveying, preserving and propagating traditional pulse varieties, and cataloguing and conserving traditional millet cultivars. Current state schemes supply local Korgut and other salt-resistant paddy seed at subsidised rates for cultivation in Khazan land and provide incentives for millet cultivation. The 2026 Governor's Address also records registration of Goa Korgut Rice as a Geographical Indication intended to conserve the state's unique varieties and improve their market recognition. These policy, conservation, seed-distribution and recognition measures constitute the promised special effort. Status fulfilled.
