Replace state RTC vehicles with electric public mobility

Bharatiya Janata Party · Goa Legislative Assembly Election 2022

Last updated 20 Jun 2026

We shall build a world class eco-friendly transportation infrastructure for Goa. We will reduce end-to-end intra-state travel time to less than an hour by harnessing the state's inland waterways for both passenger and cargo transportation, establishing green mobility corridors and replacing all state RTC vehicles with new age electric public mobility.

On track, but not fulfilled. The promise is to replace all state RTC vehicles with new-age electric public mobility. KTCL officially records a fleet of 480 diesel buses and 171 electric AC buses, so the state RTC fleet has not been fully replaced. However, official sources confirm substantial progress: Department of Information and Publicity reported that KTCL had procured 48 electric buses for routes in and around Panaji, and later reported the decision to scrap 280 old Kadamba buses and introduce around 100 electric buses on various routes by 2027. This confirms concrete electric public-mobility transition, but not full replacement of all RTC vehicles.
