“We will convert all diesel buses into CNG buses to improve public trans-port facilities in the state and reduce vehicular pollution within a year.”
Broken. The promise requires conversion of all diesel buses into CNG buses within one year, giving an implementation deadline in 2023. Kadamba Transport Corporation current official fleet statement records 480 diesel buses and 171 electric AC buses. An official 2025 Assembly answer similarly recorded 483 Government-owned diesel buses, 48 Smart City electric buses and 93 hired electric buses. The addition of electric buses provides a cleaner public-transport alternative, but it does not satisfy the stated commitment to convert every diesel bus to CNG within the specified year. Hundreds of diesel buses continued operating more than two years after the deadline, and no approved evidence confirms a statewide CNG conversion programme. Status broken.
The Government recorded 483 Government-owned diesel buses still operating, more than two years after the conversion deadline.
