Last updated 6 Jun 2026

We will establish Welfare Boards for all auto, taxi drivers and domestic workers, under which we will provide life insurance up to ₹10 lakh, accident insurance up to ₹5 lakh, and scholarships for their children for higher education. We will provide a subsidy on vehicle insurance to auto and taxi drivers, and paid maternity leave up to 6 months to all domestic workers.

Boards not constituted. The promised Auto-Taxi Driver Welfare Board and Domestic Workers Welfare Board — with ₹10 lakh life insurance, ₹5 lakh accident insurance, children’s scholarships, a vehicle-insurance subsidy for auto/taxi drivers, and up to six months’ paid maternity leave for domestic workers — have not been set up as of the research date. The government has adopted the four central Labour Codes (notifying the Delhi Code on Social Security Rules, 2025), which is the enabling framework, and continues the pre-existing Delhi Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board. Adjacent labour-welfare progress, but the specific boards and benefits are not yet operational. Marked pending.
