“Our aim is to make Delhi the cleanest metro city and secure the top rank in Swachh Survekshan, through segregated dry/wet waste collection and management, enhanced MCD waste-collection capacity, real-time resolution of sanitation complaints via a mobile app, and new waste-to-energy plants.”
Biomining of legacy waste is well advanced and bids have been initiated for Integrated Fresh Waste Processing Facilities (about 5,900 TPD, commissioning targeted October 2026-January 2027) under Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban 2.0 (MoHUA). Comprehensive segregated dry/wet collection, real-time complaint redressal and a top Swachh Survekshan rank have not been separately verified as achieved.

We will ensure that every household has access to sewerage facilities by increasing the capacity of sewage treatment plants to 1,000 MGD and common effluent treatment plants to 220 MLD to ensure 100% treatment of sewage and effluent.
We will review and reduce the development charges imposed by the Delhi Jal Board for sewerage connections.
