“AAP guarantees that the Yamuna river will be cleaned and made fit for bathing by 2025. Through interceptor sewage treatment plants, new STPs with 900 MGD capacity, industrial effluent regulation, and rejuvenation of Yamuna floodplains, Delhiites will see a clean, flowing river.”
The Yamuna remains severely polluted with BOD and coliform levels far exceeding safe limits. Despite investments in STPs, untreated sewage continues to enter the river. The 2025 deadline has clearly been missed.
