Our Assessment
The promise was to initiate ropeway transport networks, especially in the 10 hill districts. PIB reported that under Parvatmala, Uttarakhand is among the MoU states and listed multiple Uttarakhand ropeway projects: Sonprayag-Kedarnath approved at Rs 4,081.28 crore, Gaurikund-Kedarnath under construction, and bids invited for Sonprayag-Kedarnath, Govindghat-Hemkund Sahib and Kathgodam-Hanuman Garhi. This is credible implementation progress but not fulfilled because a broad 10-hill-district network is not complete. Budget status: project cost and central programme pipeline are verified.
