What does this status mean?
Meaningful delivery has occurred, but the stated commitment is incomplete.
Status describes delivery. Confidence describes how strong the available evidence is.
Original manifesto wording
“We have established Shakti Desks (Women Help Desks) in police stations. We will further ensure their expansion for timely investigation and resolution of issues.”
Our Assessment
Women Help Desks (the central scheme equivalent of the manifesto’s "Shakti Desks"), supported by the Nirbhaya Fund, have been expanded widely: 14,658 Women Help Desks have been set up in police stations, of which 13,743 are headed by women police officers, making stations more approachable for women. Expansion of the desks is evident; the second part of the pledge (timely investigation and resolution of issues) relates to outcomes that are harder to verify. Partial.
