Our Assessment
A Rs 1 lakh crore corpus to finance private-sector-driven research, development and innovation was announced in the Union Budget 2024-25, and the Cabinet approved the Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) Scheme in 2025 to provide long-term, low/nil-interest financing for sunrise sectors and deep-tech, operationalised through ANRF’s funding mechanisms. The fund/scheme has been set up; disbursement at scale is in early stages. Partial.
