Our Assessment
The declaration promised a credible crop insurance scheme that immediately compensates farmers for crop losses. No approved-source evidence was found that the state has introduced such a dedicated crop insurance scheme. This should not be confused with Rythu Bima, which is a farmer life insurance scheme paying the nominee on a farmer's death and does not insure crops. The state is also not a participant in the central Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana in a manner that delivers this promise.
