Our Assessment

The manifesto promised to double Rajasthan’s per capita income. Using 2022-23, the latest completed financial year when the manifesto was released, as a transparent baseline, official per capita income at current prices was Rs 1,49,060 and a doubling would require Rs 2,98,120. The 2025-26 advance estimate is Rs 2,02,349, representing growth of about 35.7 per cent from that baseline and annual growth of 9.32 per cent over 2024-25. This is meaningful progress, but per capita income has not doubled and the latest annual growth rate does not by itself establish a secure path to the target within the term. The promise is therefore partial rather than fulfilled or on_track. Budget: This is a macroeconomic outcome without a dedicated budget line; broad development and investment spending was not treated as a direct allocation to doubling per capita income.
