Build global consensus against terrorism (CCIT, No Money for Terror)

Bharatiya Janata Party · Lok Sabha General Election 2024

Last updated 3 Jun 2026

We will continue our efforts to create a consensus among all members of the United Nations on the Comprehensive Convention against International Terrorism and other such efforts to combat terrorism. We will build upon the success of the ‘No Money for Terror’ conference to develop better coordination on countering terrorism financing.

Our Assessment

medium

India continues to advocate the Comprehensive Convention on International Terrorism (CCIT, an Indian-proposed draft) at the UN and to build on the "No Money for Terror" (NMFT) ministerial conferences on countering terror financing, alongside engagement in FATF and counter-terror diplomacy. However, the CCIT remains stalled at the UN without the global consensus the pledge seeks, owing to long-standing definitional disagreements among member states. The effort is continuing; the consensus objective is not achieved. Partial.
