The pledge to create a Bhashini-type language technology system has been delivered. The Digital India Bhashini platform (BHASHa INterface for India), built under the National Language Translation Mission and run by the Digital India Bhashini Division (DIBD) under MeitY, is operational as an AI-powered, open-source public platform providing translation and language services across all 22 Eighth Schedule languages. It has been integrated into services such as the e-Shram portal, Maha Kumbh 2025, and (June 2026) DPIIT’s digital platforms, and complemented by Adi-Vaani, a dedicated AI platform for tribal-language translation and preservation. The system exists and is being actively scaled. Fulfilled.
Bhashini supports all 22 Scheduled languages; Adi-Vaani launched for real-time translation/preservation of tribal languages alongside SPPEL.
