“We will aim towards eliminating the threat of drugs on our society, especially our young citizens, through a series of technical, legal and intelligence programmes. We will work on enforcement and reducing demand for drugs. We will leverage Big Data analytics, artificial intelligence, drones and satellite imagery to detect and dismantle drug trafficking networks effectively.”
India has strengthened its anti-drugs framework through an expanded Narcotics Control Bureau, the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (demand reduction), and the MANAS national toll-free anti-narcotics helpline (1933) launched in 2024 for reporting and assistance, alongside record seizures and the use of technology and intelligence-sharing. However, the stated aim of "eliminating the threat of drugs" is a long-horizon goal that has not been achieved, and drug trafficking and abuse remain significant challenges. Partial.
We will assist states in transforming the police into a tech-savvy, tech-trained and tech-equipped force through the Police Modernization Scheme.
We will strengthen our paramilitary forces with state-of-the-art equipment and trained personnel to eliminate LWE in all its forms. We will ensure that the development and welfare schemes reach the people living in areas affected by Left Wing Extremism. With this 360 degree approach, we will eliminate LWE in our journey towards Viksit Bharat.
