Disaster resilience is being strengthened through the National Disaster Management Authority, expanded early-warning systems (cyclone, flood, heatwave, GLOF), the National Cyclone Risk Mitigation Project, common-alerting-protocol SMS systems, and India’s leadership of the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI). Improved forecasting and preparedness have reduced casualties from some disasters (e.g. cyclones), though losses remain significant. As an open-ended objective, it is being pursued on an ongoing basis. Partial.
We have started multiple programmes to protect the environment like PM Surya Ghar Yojana, Railway Electrification, PM e-Bus, promotion of EVs, Ethanol and Bio-fuel promotion among others. Through these programmes, our citizens will benefit from the opportunity to live in a clean environment.
We will promote recycling programmes across the country. We will institutionalise recycling mandates across sectors to maximise mineral recovery from used products.
We will strengthen Mission LIFE, establishing a comprehensive repository encompassing both traditional and contemporary best practices, and fostering the global adoption of environmentally friendly lifestyles to promote sustainable living across the globe.
